It is a key which involves planning , organisation , management and communication which can open a way to develop and complete a quality project in a given duration.
Its about getting things done
Its about planning and deciding on what is the goal of the project.
Its about planning how you will achieve the goal.
Its about knowing how long will you take to achieve it.
Its about making sure that everyone involved understands the goal of the project.
What is a successful project?
A project which is delivered without compromising over 'Time' , 'Cost' and 'Quality of work'.

Steps to implement project management
Step 1 : Initiation
It involves understanding the project and analysing its feasibility.
Step 2 : Planning
Includes creating detailed goals and project road map. Involves work breakdown plan, communication plan, risk management plan etc.
Step 3: Implementation Process
Its about implementing the plan. Starting with the core development(coding).
It involves
- Executing the project scope.
- Manage team's work.
- Recommend changes and corrective measures.
- Conduct team building
- Achieve project milestones
- Status review meetings to keep things on schedule.
- Document changes in the project plan.
Step 4: Controlling Process
It is a process which involves keeping project on track and ensuring that appropriate standards and deadlines are met.
Step 5: Closure
This is the final step in PM. In this phase all the deliverables are finalised and formally transferred, and all documentations are signed off , approved and achieved.
Tips
Currently there are many tools especially for technical projects
which are being developed especially for team management. I have
been working with a tool named 'worktez' closely. It offers features
for tracking each team members task, tracking performance of the
team, assigning task and monitoring it and much more. So in short
you can take up such tools which will help you and provide you with
an wholesome package of project management and team management
features and make your work faster and smoother.
